Les enviamos adjunto la Declaración denunciando los hechos acontecidos en Perú la semana pasada y a la vez demandando la inmediata suspensión de las negociaciones del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre la Unión Europea con Perú y Colombia en el entendido que estos acuerdos no solo vulneran los derechos básicos de las comunidades indígenas, campesinas, mujeres, y las poblaciones en general, sino que es inaceptable que los países de la Unión Europea negocien acuerdos comerciales con gobiernos que son directamente responsables de asesinatos y masacres de sus pueblos. Esta Declaración fue preparada por miembros de las redes Enlazando Alternativas, Seattle to Brussels y Nuestro Mundo no esta en Venta.

Se recogerán firmas hasta el MARTES 16 de Junio, 18pm. Sabemos que no es mucho tiempo pero las negociaciones entre la UE y Perú y Colombia comienzan el lunes 15, por lo que es crucial tener la carta con las firmas para entregar a los negociadores y enviar a la prensa el Miércoles 17.

Please find attached a Declaration denouncing the situation in Peru, the attempt of the Govt to force the implementation of an FTA which threatens the rights of indigenous people and the inmediate suspension of the negotiations for an FTA between the EU and Peru and Colombia. It is unacceptable that the European Governments are continuing the negotiations in a situation of flagrant violation of human rights on the side of the governments of Peru and Colombia, and giving the clear proof of the negative impacts of these FTAs on people's civic, social, economic, cultural and environmental rights. This Declaration was prepared by members of the networks Enlazando Alternativas, Seattle to Brussels and OWINFS.

Your signatures are requested before TUESDAY 16th of June, 18pm. We know is not much time but we need to move fast since the next Round of trade negotiations between the EU and Peru/Colombia is starting next Monday 15 June.  Therefore, it is crucial to send the letter with signatures to the negotiators and the press on Wednesday at the latest.
